Our G.S.P 18K Gold Plating Solution produces a slightly lighter tone of yellow and a harder wearing surface, which is a common request for plating on jewellery. 18K Gold is also a popular choice for gold plating watches. It can be tank, brush, and pen plated and contains 4 grams of gold per litre. It can be plated to a vermeil thickness of 2.5 microns and produces a hard-wearing, long-lasting plate.

The main use of this solution is to act as a flash gold strike over stainless and non stainless steels, to allow for easy and full adhesion of 24K Gold or other finishes.

For optimum performance, use with our G.S.P Brush Plating Probes or 316 Stainless Steel Flat Tank Plating Anodes.

Overview of use

Instructions for use of:

G.S.P 18K Gold Plating Solution

Pen plating:

6 volts

Brush plating:

3-9 volts

Tank plating:

0.008 amps per cm2

Additional notes:

Used as a pre-plate over all types of steels when tank plating. With non stainless steels, it seals and prevents formation of rust under the plating when followed by a nickel plate.

Brush plating at 3-9 volts can affect the shade - a higher voltage leads to a lighter shade. When brush plating, probe must be moved quickly, no slower than 3 swipes per second.

When tank plating, sway item continuously or use air agitation directly under the item that is being plated.
