The G.S.P Recruit BR1 Deluxe Brush Plating / Electroplating Kit will allow you to effortlessly brush plate over a wide variety of metals, with no limit on the size of objects that can be plated. Gold plating and silver plating are a breeze with our easy-to-follow process. The kit includes robust and reliable equipment which is suitable for heavy use. You'll also benefit from a Bench Mounted Buffing / Polishing Machine with mops and waxes, to help you achieve an optimum finish prior to plating, enhancing the appearance of your plated items.
The kit can also be expanded easily into a full tank plating set-up, we have even included a few tank chemicals: our G.S.P AllyCu Zincate Solution and G.S.P Anodise Stripper to get you started.
Alternatively, if you wish to plate plastics and other non-conductive surfaces, this kit can be expanded for electroforming due to the inclusion of our 10A SmartAmp Machine, and its integrated plating technology. The Recruit BR1 Deluxe Electroplating Kit contains gold, silver, nickel, and copper, which allows you to plate most metal surfaces to a high standard.
As a bonus, the kit also gives you a head-start with aluminium plating, and although you will require an additional Nickel Tank Conversion Kit and 1 litre of our G.S.P Nickel Plating Solution (sold separately), we have included all of the prep chemicals needed for plating over aluminium in this kit!
This kit comes complete with our 5 Point Support Package and is an excellent choice.
Please note: The style/colour/appearance of the included SmartAmp Plating Machine may vary from the photograph, this does not affect the functioning/technical specifications of the product.

Overview of use
Full detailed instructions are supplied with this kit.
Brush Plating
Here is a brief overview of the brush plating process:
Step 1: Clean / polish the item to be plated.
Step 2: If the item is chrome plated, strip the chrome with G.S.P Chrome Stripper which takes between 1-15 minutes and then rinse. If the item is nickel or stainless steel, brush over with the appropriate activator for a few seconds and then rinse.
Step 3: Brush the gold or other metal solution of your choice over and over, building up thickness as you go. Do this for between 2-20 minutes depending on the size of the item and then rinse / dry.
Step 4: Rub G.S.P Gold Polish over the item and then wipe off to bring out the final shine.
Please note: You do not always apply precious metals directly over the original substrate, it depends on what that metal is.
Examples include - copper would need to be plated with G.S.P Nickel Plating Solution first, this would be followed by using G.S.P Nickel Activator, then the piece could be gold plated.
Brass would be plated with G.S.P Copper Strike, then with G.S.P Nickel Plating Solution, followed by G.S.P Nickel Activator and the piece could then be gold-plated.
To see a full breakdown of what steps to take with various substrates, please visit: How to Plate Various Metals.
Tank Plating
The G.S.P Recruit BR1 Kit can be expanded upon to facilitate general tank plating. You can find tank and anode sets and additional solutions (sold separately) in our shop.
Bench Mounted Polishing Buffing Machine
When buffing, apply rouge to the loose-leaf mop liberally. Hold item in place against the wheel until the item starts to get hot. The item can then be moved around against the wheel. If the item is moved against the wheel before it gets hot, the result will be that the item will not polish, and wax will be spread smeared across the item. The bite point is located at the bottom of the wheel and it is pulling away from you.
Full instructions are included, please read and understand these before using the product. Some assembly is required.
Technical Specs

G.S.P Recruit BR1 Deluxe Brush Plating / Electroplating Kit
Which plating machine is supplied in this kit?
10A SmartAmp Plating Machine: 10-amp machine with integrated plating technology.
Please note that this machine comes with a UK plug - to use in the US or other countries, all that is required is a plug converter - this will convert a UK 3 pin plug into a standard 2 pin mains plug. These are inexpensive and available in hardware stores / online. Your converter does NOT need to be a step up/step down adapter, just a regular converter that can be purchased, to take the US as an example, for around $8.
Please note: This kit comes with a buffing machine which WILL require a step-up/step-down transformer if your power output is 110 volts. This advice applies to overseas customers only and affects the buffing machine not the plating machine.
What is the maximum amp output of the supplied plating machine?
